The official site for this year’s Cannes Film Festival was kind enough to shed some light on Charlie Kaufman’s enigmatic directorial debut SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK in the form of three clips. Well, it doesn’t really shed any more light than what we already know but at least we have our first look at the film. In it, Phillip Seymour Hoffman stars as a theater director whose latest project almost literally takes on a life of its own. There’s about 40 years worth more of story there (this is a Kaufman film, after all) but that’s the gist. Cilck through for the clips and for some new pics, one of which is below. The film will be released later this year.
